LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Ammar Yasir on Friday resigned as the Punjab minister for mines and minerals.

In his resignation, the minister said that undue pressure was put on him due to which he could no longer perform his duties.

Yasir further said that he took up the job to serve the country and nation, but could not work under such pressure and hurdles.

It may be noted that after the 2018 general elections, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a coalition government in Punjab with PML-Q.

Former provincial chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was also elected as the speaker of the provincial assembly under the said alliance.
