Ugh, they keep getting worse, says Dustbin of History

Noted global metaphor The Dustbin of History said on Friday that the public figures that Pakistan is sending, specially from the jurists, keep getting worse and worse.

“I mean, I get it, these fellows aren’t supposed to be choice picks and all,” it said. “But there was a time when these guys were still at least impressive.”

“I mean I remember Justice Munir. He was fabulously well-read, learned and erudite,” it said. “This current lot can barely hold a decent conversation.”

“Is this the fate I will be resigned to,” it asked.

“Look, don’t get me wrong. I know what my job is and it isn’t supposed to be glamorous, I get that,” it said. “But from other countries and other professions, I get highly gifted individuals, who lost perspective in the hubris of success and are now contemplating over their lives and decisions. They’re still with me, they’re not what they used to be at their height, but still, very wise people to talk to.”

“This new guy, I’m sure, is going to want to get out of me by writing a column or trying to deliver a talk at Precious Institute of Management,” it said. “Ugh, I’m dreading the fellow already.”
