Turnaround in offing as Pakistan set to treat each Test match as eleven T20 contests

JOHANNESBURG – After three years in charge of the Pakistan cricket team, coach Mickey Arthur appears to have finally cracked the code of the Test side and will be introducing a new revolutionary plan in the next Test series.

Pakistan may have already lost the ongoing Test series against South Africa, but the team management has issued a warning to the opponents that they would next face in the five-day format claiming that the side is set for a turnaround.

“Given the contrasts we have in the T20s and Tests, we are going to back our strengths in the areas where we struggle,” a member of the team management told The Dependent.

“Henceforth, we will be treating each Test match as 11 T20 matches and considering that we are unbeaten in T20 series under Sarfraz (Ahmed) we should return to the Test summit where we were in 2016.”

The team management confessed that they should’ve thought of the plan earlier considering the contrasts have been there for a couple of years.

“It was only after we saw one of those pie-charts during the match which show which team won which session that Mickey (Arthur) got the idea of treating each of those sessions as a T20 game,” the member of the management said.

“But instead of going with 15 T20s for the 15 sessions in five days, we decided to divide the 450 overs in five days by 40 overs that a T20 match has.

“It’s easier to win 11 matches than 15, and of course we didn’t want our plan to sound stupid.”
