Provision of justice part of PTI govt’s vision: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said the provision of justice at the doorsteps of people was an important part of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s vision.

He was talking to a lawyers’ delegation hailing from Faisalabad Bar Council. Minister for Law and Justice Dr Farogh Naseem, members of the National Assembly Raja Riaz Ahmed, Raza Nasrullah Ghuman, Shaikh Khurram Shahzad, Nawab Shair Waseer, Faizullah Kamoka, Farrukh Habib and Attorney General of Pakistan Anwar Mansoor Khan were also present during the meeting, PM office media wing in a press release said.

During the meeting, the lawyers’ delegation apprised the prime minister about their demand for the establishment of a high court bench in Faisalabad and said the total population of the area stood more than 20 million.

Despite having a huge population with an industrial and business centre, the residents of Faisalabad have to travel to Lahore to pursue their cases pertaining to corporate sector and others which created huge problems for them, they added.

With regard to lawyers’ demand for the establishment of a bench, the prime minister directed the law minister to hold consultation with the judges of the superior judiciary and stakeholders, so that a solution to their demand could be sorted out.
