ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah on Tuesday said that there is no need for anyone to bring Prime Minister Imran Khan down because his own policies and governance style are enough to do that.
“He is his own enemy,” he asserted.
Talking to media persons in Islamabad, the senior PPP leader said that the federal cabinet members are holding meetings with organisations which are suspicious. “Asif Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif or anyone of us doesn’t need to do anything, they are bringing themselves down,” he said.
“PPP is ready for everything, including the law on National Accountability Bureau (NAB), which will be a huge improvement for Pakistan,” he added.
He further said that the current government is using the slogan of corruption to simply show people but they will not be able to survive this.
Further criticising the government, Shah said that the prices of common goods are increasing by every passing day. “They have already presented two budgets and preparing for the third,” he said.
Claiming that the government is “looting the people” through prices of petroleum goods, Shah said that in 2011-12, the price of oil was $110/ barrel and it was being sold at Rs94/litre in the country. Now, when the price is $60/ barrel, it is being sold for Rs114/litre.
“The government is earning the extra money simply by selling the oil. The price of a Urea bag was Rs800 and now it is Rs1300, while a single DAP bag was sold for Rs2,800 and now it is for Rs38,00,” Shah asserted, adding that the farmers are not getting the right prices for the crops and are dying but government is still not ready to give subsidy to the farmers.
