Govt abolishes NICOP to facilitate expats

ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has decided to abolish the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for facilitating the Pakistani expatriates, said spokesperson of Ministry of Overseas Pakistani (MOP) on Tuesday.

The decision was taken after the recommendation of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari. He said that the decision had been approved by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Now the overseas Pakistani can travel to Pakistan without a visa,” he added.
