QUETTA: At least three Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers lost their lives while four others received injuries after their vehicle came under an IED (improvised explosive device) attack in Margat area of Quetta on Sunday.
According to media reports, the soldiers were transporting rations to the security personnel when they were hit by the IED. As a result, three personnel died.
The bodies and injured, who were stated to be out of danger, were shifted to Quetta Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for medico-legal formalities. The security forces cordoned off the area after the blast and launched a search operation.
The attack came a day after a former deputy director general of police, Naeem Kakar, was martyred in a targetted attack. According to reports, unidentified assailants opened fire on Kakar when he was walking towards his home after offering prayers at a mosque in the Junior Assistant Colony area on Zarghoon Road.
