Qatari army chief calls on PM Khan, expresses will to further strengthen ties

ISLAMABAD: Qatari Chief of Staff of Armed Forces Lieutenant General Ghanim bin Shaheen Al-Ghannim on Tuesday called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan at PM Secretariat.

During the meeting, bilateral relations between both countries, particularly trade and others, came under discussion.

PM expressed satisfaction over the growth of mutual relations between two countries and said that strong relations with Qatar are in the priorities of his government.

PM said that an increase of 73 per cent in the Pakistani exports to Qatar and the project to connect Karachi Port with Hammad Port have started a new chapter in the bilateral relations for the years to come.

PM thanked Qatari leaders for their decision to provide jobs to one lac people from Pakistan, besides welcoming the opening of special offices in Islamabad and Karachi for recruitments.

PM Imran expressed his desire for amity, friendship and good relations among Muslim countries and solidarity to confront common challenges.

It is vital to mention here that both countries are working to find out a solution for Afghan issue and they have forged constant cooperation in this regard.
