Man killed in the name of honour over ‘illicit relations’ with woman

VEHARI: A man was gunned down in the name of honour over suspicion of having alleged illicit relations with a woman in Vehari’s Burewala City on Sunday.

According to a report in the local media, the accused Sadaqat Dogar, Bilal Dogar, Iftikhar Dogar, Nadeem and others suspected Noman Sajjad of having illicit relations with one of the women in their family. In a fit of rage, they opened fire on Noman, killing him on the spot and fled the scene.

A police official shared that the victim used to work in Saudi Arabia and came to Pakistan a few months back to meet his family.

He further revealed that the accused had lodged a complaint against the victim at the police station for having a relationship with a woman of their family and the deceased was returning from court after getting bail in the said case when the culprits opened fire on him.

Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the suspects and started investigations.
