SHC summons health secretary in medicines misuse case

KARACHI: A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice (CJ) Ahmed Ali Shaikh of the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday summoned Health Department secretary on November 6 (tomorrow) in a case of corruption and misuse of medicines in a government hospital of Radhan Town of Dadu district.

A report was submitted by the sessions judge, which said that one patient’s dose of injection is being administered to four patients.

The SHC chief justice also took the notice of the on media reports regarding the treatment of a girl, Anmol Baloch, on personal expenditures at a government hospital. Baloch belongs to Nawabshah and has been suffering from kidney problem.

The chief justice sought a report from the Nawabshah sessions judge and Nawabshah’s Peoples Medical Hospital (PMH) medical superintendent in the next three days regarding the girl’s treatment.

The court, later, adjourned the hearing till 6th November.
