RAWALPINDI: A prison official was arrested for selling drugs in central jail on Thursday.
Adiala Jail Superintendent Mansoor Akbar told APP that a prison telephone operator Ahizar Riaz was arrested red-handed when he was selling heroin to prisoners and added 210 grams of heroin was recovered from his custody.
Mansoor informed that a crackdown has been launched against drugs’ sellers in the jail and he is himself monitoring it.
Saddar Beroni police have registered a case against the operator and further investigations are underway.
