ABU DHABI – Following his match winning performance against Australia in the first T20I at Abu Dhabi all-rounder Imad Wasim said there is a lot more that he has borrowed from Portugal and Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Talking to The Dependent, Imad Wasim said that the star footballer is his favourite athlete and that he has vowed to imitate everything that he does.
“It’s not just Ronaldo’s celebration that I’ve been copying,” he boasted. “I’ve been similarly working on the fitness level and following the same exercises – and you can check the results,” he added proceeding to gesture to take his shirt off, which this scribe duly turned down.
Imad Wasim said the past year away from the national side has given him a lot of time to follow Ronaldo closely to a point where he has been keeping an eye on every move of his with the intention of replicating it.
“In fact, I am pretty sure, I can qualify for the national football side now. Hell, I’d probably be able to replace Ronaldo at Real Madrid now – and they sure are in need of some goals,” he said.
