ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday did not answer questions posed by journalists when he appeared before an accountability court.

Nawaz appeared before the court in relation to the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) references against him.

The former premier directed journalists to ask questions from Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb, who was present with him.

Nawaz was asked about his views on “the current political situations and meetings”.

“Marriyum Aurangzeb will reply to this,” he said in response.

“If the government continues to fail, then the political scenario will change,” the PML-N spokesperson said.

“Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari is ready to meet you, will you meet him?” asked another journalist.

However, Nawaz again directed the question to Marriyum Aurangzeb.

“We are reviewing his statement on a party level,” she answered.
