KARACHI: A 36-member delegation of German businessmen hailing from Bavaria region on Tuesday met representatives of local business forums including Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), Association of Builders and Developers (ABAD) and other industrialists and companies’ heads at Sindh Secretariat.
The German delegation was headed by Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology’s Ulrich Konstantin Rieger who was accompanied by Consul General of Germany in Karachi Dr Pantelis Christian Poetis.
The meeting was presided by Energy Minister Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh in which Sindh Board of Investment (SBI) Director General Imran Ata Soomro, Director (Administration) Abrar Sheikh, Sindh Special Economic Zones Management Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdul Azeem Uqaily, Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) CEO Mehboob ul Haq and other senior officers of various departments also participated.
On this occasion, Abdul Azeem Uqaily briefed the German delegation about investment opportunities in Sindh. He also briefed about investment policies and incentives which are being given to the investors by the Sindh government in the province.
The German delegation expressed keen interest in investment in terms of joint ventures and business partnerships with Pakistani investors. They also showed interest in investment in training in various fields specially in skill development.
Imtiaz Ahmed Sheikh, while addressing to the participants, said that we should certainly get success in making some important business partnerships with our German counterparts.
He assured his full cooperation in this regard. He also paid thanks to honourable guests for their visit to Pakistan, and specially to Sindh.
