The 10-year-ban on former national cricket team player Nasir Jamshed was upheld by an independent adjudicator on Monday.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB): “Nasir Jamshed’s 10-year ban upheld by independent adjudicator Justice (R) Mian Hamid Farooq, the independent adjudicator hearing the appeal filed by Nasir Jamshed has maintained the 10-year ban imposed on the cricketer.”

According to a press release by the cricket board:

The 10-year ban imposed on Nasir Jamshed has been found to be ‘perfectly justified’ and shall continue to remain in force.

The two additional sanctions imposed by the Anti-Corruption Tribunal regarding,

A: Inclusion of Nasir in the list of players to be avoided by cricketers and all stakeholders:

B: Not to be given an important role in the management or administration of cricket have been set aside as they fall outside the confines provided under Article 6.2 of the PCB’s Anti-Corruption Code.

In August 2017, Nasir Jamshed was banned for 10 years by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over spot-fixing investigations.

The anti-corruption tribunal of the cricket board declared Jamshed guilty of violating its code of conduct under Articles 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3, 2.1.4 and 2.4.4 during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017.

Jamshed was previously banned for one year due to non-cooperation with spot-fixing investigations.

The decision against Jamshed was reserved on August 16.

The left-handed opening batsman has also been banned from holding any cricket management role for life.
