Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has ordered to “take off-air” the commercial of an online shopping facility, in which Prime Minister Imran Khan was mimicked.
“PEMRA ordered to take it off the air at 12 am on Friday,” impressionist and comedian Shafaat Ali, who mimics both PM Khan and controversial television host cum politician Aamir Liaquat Hussain in the advert, told Pakistan Today.

“I have been told that the recent ad I appeared in has been taken off-air. Media censorship continues…” Ali had said in an earlier statement on his Twitter account.
Although no official statement has yet been made by the regulatory authority, the impressionist’s claim has received mixed reactions from social media users.
This is a developing story and will be updated after PEMRA’s version has been received.
