Pakistani professional squash player Noreena Shams on October 2 addressed the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRCPR) and talked about issues of harassment in sports and asked about the role of UN in this context.
Sharing one part of her speech on Twitter, Shams wrote: “If sports is referred to work so does that mean the treatment female athletes face is indirectly workplace harassment? South Asian countries face it the most. Tell us solutions and work on that.”

Asking about the role of UN panel, the sportswoman wrote: “I really am interested in what this panel has to suggest and has worked on adding the development of mental conditions of athletes after they go through the traumas on and off the events.”
