DUBAI: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday will present its side of the case in front of International Cricket Council (ICC) in the legal battle against Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

On Monday, former PBC chairman Najam Sethi appeared before the ICC Dispute Resolution Committee over the botched bilateral series agreements between Pakistan and India.

Both cricket boards signed an agreement to play bilateral series in 2014. BCCI, however, did not honour the agreement hence PCB filed a notice of dispute with ICC last November claiming damages from BCCI.

The Pakistani cricket board is demanding $70 million in compensation from India, stating that the agreement signed in 2014 had guaranteed six bilateral series between 2015 and 2023.

However, not a single series has been played between these two arch rivals as India refused to play cricket with Pakistan.

BCCI, in its defence, has stated that they cannot play cricket with Pakistan until their government gives them permission and dismissed the agreement as legally not binding.

Khwaja Ahmad Hosain, Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan, Alexandros Panayides of Clifford Chance, London, Lawyers from Clifford Chance, London are representing PCB in the legal battle.

Michael Beloff QC, Chairperson, Jan Paulsson Annabelle Bennett are the members of dispute panel, hearing this case.
