Former minister of religious affairs and TV host Aamir Liaquat once again landed himself in controversy with his out of place ‘humour’.

On September 30, while mocking the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s knack for going back on major decisions, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz said he is going to make a movie on Prime Minister Imran Khan titled “U-Turn Khan”.

“I will invest in a film named U-Turn Khan,” he said.

Liaquat, however, took the joke a bit too seriously.

“Useless person Hamza Shahbaz has decided to create a film with the name U-Turn Khan. You child of Model Town hunter, you won’t make U-Turn Khan, but we shall make a movie U-Burn Pakistan to highlight your family’s actions and how they’ve landed you in punishment,” Aamir tweeted.

A fan account of former Senator Farhatullah Babar tweeted: “Mr Amir, control your tongue lest you have to knock at the same PML-N’s doors one day.”

Another user said: “Sir, your voters should be punished. It is because of them that a joker has been appointed to the Parliament House.”

A user made noted the irony in Liaquat’s actions: “A ruling party that has you as its member doesn’t need an Opposition to cause embarrassment.”
