KARACHI: The Pakistan Advertising Association (PAA) has elected Synchronize Media CEO Ali Mandviwala as the new chairman. The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the PAA was held on September 29, 2018, to appoint the new office-bearers and Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the association.
Other office-bearers for the year 2018-2019 include M Communications CEO Sohail Kisat as the senior vice chairman while The Brand Partnership CEO Numan Nabi Ahmed was elected as the vice chairman.
Ali Mandviwala thanked the PAA for their trust and said, “It is an honor and privilege for me to be given this opportunity. I assure all stakeholders that my efforts will be directed towards addressing many challenges faced today by the Pakistani advertising agencies. Together, with the support of our senior vice chairman, vice chairman and CEC members we will continue to make the association stronger by improving its code of conduct, best practices with an aim to become a valuable contributor to other stakeholders of the advertising industry.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said, “I would like to congratulate the newly-elected chairman and office-bearers of PAA. The government of Pakistan understands the importance of the advertising industry and will take all necessary measures to enhance the growth and performance of this professional sector.”
Among the newly-elected members of the CEC is Adetude MD Syed Ali Raza, Argus Advertising Executive Director Hassan Ansari, J Walter Thompson Pakistan CEO Omer Y Murad, Manhill Advertising CEO Wasiq Ali Khan, Maxim Advertising Director Bilal Tanveer, MCM Advertising CEO Mahmood Parekh, Revolution Media CEO Mubin Malik, Spider 360 Media MD Tabish Waqar and TNI Communications CEO Zeeshan Khan.
For the two seats reserved for women, PAA has elected Mediad Communications CEO Fatima Kisat and Bond Advertising CEO Seema Jaffer. PAA Secretary General Tariq Rasheed and all the participating members congratulated their newly appointed leadership, while a standing ovation was also given to the out-going office-bearers for their valuable services rendered during the preceding year (2017-2018).
