LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Thursday condemned the objectionable advertisement regarding Pashtuns, which was aired by a news channel last week, and announced that the agency responsible for making the ad had been blacklisted.
“Orders have been issued to take action against all those who are responsible for the monitoring of the ad before going on-air,” the minister said in a statement, assuring a strong action against those responsible for the release of the advert.
“Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered a strict action over the objectionable advertisement as well and directed to hold an inquiry immediately while a departmental inquiry has also been initiated.”
The provincial minister further said there was a possibility that the objectionable material had been aired “unintentionally” and added that Pashtuns reflected dignity, honour, patriotism and courage that prevailed in the country.
“Our Pashtun brothers enjoy equal respect in all provinces of the country, including Punjab, and their love for the country is unwavering,” concluded the minister.
