PIA’s Sukkur-Karachi flight delayed after bomb threats

KARACHI: A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Flight PK-595 for Sukkur to Karachi with the departure time of 2:45 pm on Monday was delayed due the to security check after a threat warning for a planted bomb was given by Sukkur Police to Airport Security Force (ASF). The information was received at 2:40 pm, just before the take-off.

Subsequently, the passengers were disembarked and the luggage was offloaded as per standard operating procedure.

The aircraft and baggage were thoroughly checked by ASF and Bomb Disposal Squad and was later on cleared by the concerned security agencies.

The flight PK-595 took off for Karachi after a delay of more than one hour, PIA spokesman concluded.
