LAHORE: Journalist and News Anchor, Rai Saqib Kharal on Sunday complained of being stopped at Cantt check post here on Sunday after being assigned to cover a martyrs day show by the Pakistan Army itself.
“I was assigned to cover the show for the commemoration of martyrs day along with the families of shahada. An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) major who had arranged for the whole thing to be covered by me and team was in contact with us. However, we have been stopped at the Cantt check post for the 45 minutes. What kind of country is this and what kind of management is this?”, said Kharal in a tweet.

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor on Tuesday had said that the nation’s martyrs shall be commemorated “in a befitting manner” on Defence and Martyrs Day 2018.
The main ceremony of the day will be held at General Headquarters and broadcast live.
September 6 is Defence Day which is celebrated with a renewed pledge to defend the motherland against all threats.
It was on this day in 1965 when Indian forces crossed international border in the darkness of night to attack Pakistan but the armed forces foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy.
Special prayers are offered after Fajr in mosques for progress and prosperity of the country. Fateha and Quran Khawani are also held for the martyrs.
A number of functions will be held across the country to mark the day.
