LAHORE: The bodies of four persons were discovered at their house in the Johar Town area of the city on Friday.
On receiving information, the police reached the spot and took the bodies into custody.
The deceased have been identified as Rizwan (40), his wife Sumaira (30) and their two children, eight-year-old Arsaal and six-year-old Abubakar.
Police have collected the evidence from the scene and started an investigation.
Sadar SP Moaz Zafar is supervising the investigation of the incident and no signs of torture have yet been found on the bodies.
After a preliminary investigation, the SP said that cause of death appeared to be suffocation as the gas iron was not switched off and the room was filled with gas.
The bodies were transferred to a dead house for postmortem.
