The cost of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s helicopter’s trips to and from his residence in Bani Gala to PM House is all Pakistan can currently talk about.

President Mamnoon Hussain has also shared his thoughts on the matter. Speaking to the media after visiting the Pakistani High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Sahebzada Ahmed Khan, President Mamnoon said it is not possible for the helicopter travel to cost Rs55 per kilometre.

The matter gained momentum when Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry defended the PM’s use of the chopper claiming that it only cost “Rs55 per kilometer.”

The minister on Tuesday has remarked that he had “used Google to calculate” the per kilometre cost of PM’s commute and according to his calculations, the cost amounts to a mere Rs55 per kilometre.

On the subject of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, President Mamnoon said he cannot play a part in his release.

Speaking on other matters, Hussain said that the presidential election is the work of political parties and he has no role in it.
