Indian troops martyr another youth in IoK

SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir (IoK), Indian forces in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred one more youth in Baramulla district on Sunday, rising the death toll to four in the past twenty-four hours, in the territory.

The youth was martyred during a cordon and search operation at Kasturi Naar area in Baramulla district.

Three other youth were killed by the troops in Tangdhar area of in Kupwara district, yesterday.

Meanwhile, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik has termed the Indian attempts to abrogate Article 35-A of the constitution as a ploy to change Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a gathering in Srinagar, he there are a series of petitions in the Indian Supreme Court seeking abrogation of Article 370.

SEHRAI TAKES OATH:

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai was elected by majority votes the chairman of the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir for next three years.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai bagged 410 out of 433 total votes cast during the election held at the Srinagar office last week. Nearly 100 party members were present when the votes were counted, Kashmir Media Service reported on Sunday.

Earlier, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai was nominated as TeH Chairman by Syed Ali Gilani who held the position for more than thirteen years.

Syed Ali Gilani could not attend the function due to his bad health. He was scheduled to administer oath to Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai which was later done by a senior leader of the party.

APHC CONDEMNS: 

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the police action and use of cane-charge and teargas shells against the student fraternity at the SSM College of Engineering, Parihaspora Pattan in Baramulla.

The APHC in a statement in Srinagar denounced the use of muscle power by the police to destroy the peaceful atmosphere in the educational institutions. Kashmir Media Service reported on Sunday.

The police authorities are meddling in the affairs of the said college on the behest of their mentors without any legal or moral justification, it added.

It expressed grave concern to create a fearful atmosphere and scene of insecurity among the student community and demanded a high-level judicial probe into the grave matter to bring the culprits to justice.
