LAHORE: Following reports of reckless shooting by Punjab Police’s elite security unit which led to multiple deaths within the past couple of months, Dolphin Force, in another unprofessional move, has set free an absconded criminal on the orders of one of its deputy superintendents of police (DSPs).
As per the details, Dolphin Force personnel on Thursday arrested Gawash Butt, an absconded criminal nominated in at least 40 cases of robberies. Arms were also recovered from Butt’s possession upon arrest. However, on directives of DSP Kashif Khaleel, Butt was set free for he shared interpersonal relations with the police official.
Not only did DSP Khaleel ordered Butt’s release, he was also seen posing for selfies with his friend, the absconded criminal.
To the police officer’s bad luck, the pictures were leaked, after which Lahore Deputy Inspector General (Operations) Shahzad Akbar took notice of the incident and directed Operations SSP Asad Sarfraz Khan to investigate the matter.
He also sought a detailed report of the incident within seven days.
