Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stalwart Asad Umar was admitted to a local hospital in Islamabad after falling off a horse and receiving injuries.
Media reports said on Sunday that the incident took place when the MNA-elect had gone to a village in his constituency to attend a reception hosted in his honour by the PTI’s workers.
The probable finance minister was trying to mount a horse after addressing his supporters in his Islamabad constituency. Umar’s foot slipped and he fell off the horse.
The nature of Umar’s injury could not be ascertained yet, however, he is undergoing medical treatment. The reports suggest that Asad Umar complained of back pain after the fall.
PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid wrote on Twitter that Umar had twisted his ankle and had returned home from the hospital after a checkup. “Glad to hear that Asad_Umar is returning home from the hospital with only a twisted ankle,” she said.
