KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has surprisingly emerged as a major political party in Karachi as it seems to be ahead on 12 National Assembly (NA) seats out of 21.
The recent general elections have produced surprise results in the metropolis for the first time in almost 30 years as Karachi’s most popular party Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has so far been declared victorious on six NA seat only.
According to results received from nearly 30 per cent of polling stations, PTI has secured a lead on 112 seats followed by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) which is leading in 64 NA constituencies.
