MULTAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday said warned that any attempt of rigging will fail to stop the ‘flood’ of voters.

Addressing a rally in Multan, the prominent aspirant for the premiership said PTI Chairman Imran Khan used to criticise the Metro Bus project in Punjab and vowed not to start such projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but eventually did, turning Peshawar into ruins.

On the disqualification of Hanif Abbasi late Saturday night, he said that the decision against the PML-N leader was given around 12 am. He praised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), saying it made the right move by postponing the polls in the NA-60 constituency.

Shehbaz said, “Sheikh Rasheed knew that Abbasi will defeat him by 70,000 votes, which is why he relied on courts.”

TAUNTS ‘EMPTY SEATS’:

Moreover, Shehbaz mocked his political rivals for having empty seats during the electioneering. He said that the people across the country have witnessed empty seats in rallies of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during election campaign related public meetings in various cities. “Still PTI chairman Imran Khan is hoping to become the Prime Minister of country which is amusing,” he said.

The former Punjab chief minister lamented that his brother and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is being treated like he is an enemy of Pakistan.

“We are being pushed against the wall. We will break down the wall. We will save Pakistan,” he said.
