RAWALPINDI: Staging a protest outside Adiala Jail in favour of the corruption convicted and jailed ex-premier Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson and former state minister Marriyum Aurangzeb on Monday stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was not suitable for the democratic process.
“Imran Khan and democracy cannot go hand in hand,” she said this while talking to media.
She mocked the rival party for its ‘unsuccessful public meetings’, saying she wanted to congratulate Imran for completing a hat-trick of unsuccessful gatherings.
Marriyum opined that PTI’s public meetings in Sialkot, Jhang, and Faisalabad had failed to produce the desired numbers. She further observed Imran would have felt shame while addressing seeing an empty venue of the public meeting as people have rejected his politics of abuses like the empty chairs.
‘’People have rejected the political impersonator and the enemy of the country in Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Jhang. People all over the country will also reject him by choosing [PML-N’s] tiger on July, 25,” she added.
She was alongside a number of women’s wing workers. The PML-N leaders chanted slogans in favour of their party’s supreme leader and raised concerns over the ill-treatment in prison.
