ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Monday dismissed appeal moved by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Humayun Khan challenging his disqualification from NA-151, Khanewal.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the appeal against the decision of Lahore High Court (LHC) that upheld election tribunal’s decision.

After going through the arguments the bench observed that Khan’s disqualification was not for life and he could contest election after paying off the Rs1.3 million dues outstanding against him.

Subsequently, the court dismissed the plea.
