ISLAMABAD: Appeals against the conviction of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and his son in law captain (r) Safdar are likely to be filed on Monday.

Nawaz’s lawyers met him in Adiala jail to obtain the former PM’s signatures on the papers of attorney.

The legal team will file three appeals before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

Sharif’s legal team will challenge the Avenfield reference verdict, file a plea against a jail trial and move the court for transfer of the remaining references, Flagship and Al Azizia.

Khawaja Haris will once again lead Nawaz’s legal team.

Moreover, Maryam and captain (r) Safdar appointed Amjad Pervaiz as their lawyer once again.
