ISLAMABAD: A total of 1,066 foreign medical graduates out of 1,321 who appeared in the exam have been declared successful in the National Examination Board (NEB) examination of foreign medical dental graduates.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) on Wednesday announced the results of NEB examination of foreign medical dental graduates and 80 per cent medical and 88 per cent dental foreign graduates passed the exam.
This exam is taken from those Pakistani nationals who have done their basic medical/dental qualifications from abroad.
The exam was conducted by National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) at CMH and AFID, Rawalpindi simultaneously. This exam was conducted in three steps. Two steps were held earlier and successful candidates were eligible to appear in the final Step III exam.
The NEB Step-III exam (OSCE / VIVA) was held on June 30, July 1, 7 and 8. A Total of 1,321 candidates appeared from which 1,066 were declared successful with overall 80 per cent result in the total NEB medical exam.
The NEB dental exam (OSCE / VIVA) was held on July 7, 2018, and nine candidates appeared from which eight were declared successful with an overall 88 per cent result in the exam.
This exam was a patient-based exam and each candidate was practically assessed on different stations. Faculty of medical colleges consisting of professors, associate professors and assistant professors were the examiners who assessed the candidates.
After completing all the steps and parts of the exam, pass candidates will be registered with the PM&DC as doctors after getting notified by the Ministry of NHSR&C. The PM&DC president visited the exam venue to ensure transparency in the examination. PM&DC has uploaded the examination results on its official website.
