RAWALPINDI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned former military dictator General (r) Pervez Musharraf and his wife Sehba in multi-billion rupee corruption probe next week.

The military dictator and his wife have been asked to explain how they bought at least 10 expensive properties without the means to justify them.

According to details, two separate summons have been issued to Musharraf, his wife, two children and son-in-law, asking them to appear in the NAB Rawalpindi office on July 10 along with relevant documents.

The notices were issued by NAB Rawalpindi office investigation officer Malik Zubair.  “The competent authority has taken cognizance of an offence committed by you under the provisions of NAO (NAB Ordinance) 1999,” says the notice.

A similar notice was issued to his wife on July 2.

The NAB is probing allegations of corruption against Musharraf on a complaint of a retired army officer, Advocate Colonel Inamur Rahim, who had submitted detailed evidence against the former dictator.

Colonel Rahim alleged that Musharraf misused his authority and illegally allotted multiple expensive plots to himself and his favourites worth about Rs1,000 billion.
