ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) for using foul language against PPP leadership in its advertisement on air.

PPP Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, in a letter to the ECP, said that political parties give advertisements to private TV channels and the advertisement given by PTI to different TV channels is in violation of the code of conduct issued by the ECP as it has maligned PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari in it.

The letter also read that this paid content in the advertisement is against facts and also false and malicious. “It is requested to ECP to issue a directive to authority/private media channels to refrain from giving false and malicious paid advertisement for holding free, fair and transparent elections,” it said.
