MUZAFFARGARH: District Monitoring Officer (DMO) on Wednesday issued a notice to Daud Jatoi, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate from Alipur’s NA-186 constituency, for holding a public meeting without seeking permission from the authorities concerned, while his gunman, Ghulam Yasin, was named in an FIR for displaying arms in violation of the election code of conduct.
Deputy Commissioner/DMO Qaisar Saleem said that an action was being taken in view of ECP’s code of conduct that would strictly be enforced by the administration.
It merits mention that monitoring officers, across the province, are removing large banners and hoardings from all constituencies and no candidate is being allowed to hold a public meeting without the administration’s permission.
