RAWALPINDI: The District Council (DC) has decided to impose water conservancy charges on the consumers of the district for the conservation of the water besides overcoming water crisis.
The provincial government has given the permission to the administrator of the District Council to levy these charges immediately. The district administration said that the amount which will be collected this way will be used for the development of the rural areas.
The Deputy Commissioner Office said that the water conservancy charges will be slapped from July 1 (today). Water charges will be imposed on the consumers, factories, factory owners, owners of the heavy industries after hearing their objections and taking them into confidence.
