  • Over 300 cases of missing persons referred to the commission for their recovery

ISLAMABAD: The Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances has disposed of 3331 cases from out of 5177 owing to the great services and efforts of Justice (r) Javed lqbal who heads the special body.

According to a statement, the commission claimed to have disposed of 62 cases in May out of 86 cases received in May. A total of 5,177 cases were received by the commission up to May 31, 2018, and disposed of 3331 cases.

The commission conducted 204 hearings in Islamabad, 169 in Karachi, 73 in Lahore and 91 in Quetta during May 2018. Relatives of missing persons have also acknowledged the services of the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappearances.

Due to the excellent performance of Justice (r) Javed lqbal, the court has also referred more than 300 cases of the missing persons to the commission for their recovery, the statement said. The reason behind the success of the commission head was said to be his commitment, dedication and sincerity to the cause of humanity, it said.
