Pakistan women cricket team started the tournament with a dominant performance by defeating Thailand with eight wickets in its opening match.

Batting first, Thailand scored 67 for loss of eight wickets in its 20 overs, after batting collapse from 31-1 in 6 overs to 67-8 in 20 overs.
Chasing, Bibi Nahid gave Pakistan a flying start when the team scored 24 runs in first three overs. Pakistan chased the target easily with loss of two wickets.
Bibi Nahida was given the Player of the Match award for her unbeaten 38 runs.
