ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Communications observed in its last meeting on Monday that the construction of national highways, bridges and motorways should continue to enhance the communication network in Pakistan.
The standing committee showed its satisfaction over the fact that all pending communication projects have been completed. The committee was also informed that those pending and dead projects that were started during the era of General (r) Pervez Musharraf and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have been completed by the present government.
The NA standing committee recommended that the Ministry of Communications and National Highways Authority (NHA) should keep implementing the previous recommendations of the committee and should regularly report to NA.
The committee members appreciated the Ministry of Communications, NHA, Motorways Police and other subordinate offices for their cooperation and timely implementation of its recommendations. The representatives of the communications ministry and NHA also thanked the members of the committee for providing them with proper guidance and help them achieve important targets.
The meeting was presided over by the NA Standing Committee on Communications Chairman Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi and attended by members of National Assembly Maiza Hameed, Nazir Ahmed Bughio, Saleem Rehman, Muhammad Iqbal Shah and Sahibzada Tariq Ullah.
Moreover, communications secretary, NHA chairman and several senior civil officers also attended the meeting.
