PM Abbasi to inaugurate mega projects worth Rs12.9 billion today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday is all set to lay the foundation stone for the construction of two mega projects in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa worth Rs12.9 billion.

According to a local media report, the National Highway Authority (NHA) spokesperson Kashif Zaman that the two projects include a Kalash Valley road project worth Rs4.6 billion and the Chitral-Garam Chashma-Dorah Pass road worth Rs8.31 billion.

The Chitral-Dorah Pass Road is around 82km long divided into two packages and is expected to be completed in 24 months. Moreover, the 48km long Kalash Valley road is also divided into two and will be completed in a span of two years.

These projects are expected to raise the economic, commercial and tourist activities in the area and provide a smooth and safe travel journey to the northern areas in K-P.

Moreover, as mentioned by the spokesperson, these projects are expected to upgrade and expand the current roads with safety precautions against landslide and erosion.

The safe route will provide an uninterrupted flow of traffic and help decrease the number of fatal accidents.
