ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday gave an ultimatum of one month to all illegal allottees to vacate the government residences, seeking a report from the related departments with respect to irregularities in the allotment of the residences within 15 days.
A three-member bench of SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case Thursday.
During the hearing, the CJP asked the concerned department to “give us a report regarding the allotment of government residences within 15 days”. He added, “The illegal allotments have been made to officers and they are living therein. Provide us the details of these officers.”
The CJP inquired, “Tell us what the state has done till now. Illegal allottees will have to vacate homes within one month, if they don’t vacate homes then respective departments should take possession on their own. There are some people who have been transferred but still, they are occupying the houses.”
The court, while summoning a report on this matter from all the four provincial chief secretaries, adjourned the hearing of case indefinitely.
