ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday approved a reference against the Services Cooperative Society in Sector E-11, according to media reports.
Services Cooperative Housing Society President Abdul Razzaq Memon, Javaid Awan, Khawaja Manzoor Ahmed and Ramazan Zia Bhatti allegedly indulged in illegal and corrupt practices pertain to the allotment of plots in the society, according to NAB.
In a statement, the anti-graft bureau said, “The management committee sold allocated commercial plots and violated the society’s by-laws, which state that commercial plots are to be auctioned.”
NAB officials said that during the inquiry it was revealed that at least 10 commercial plots had been sold instead of being auctioned.
Meanwhile, NAB also approved references pertaining to Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Society. Raja Ishaq, the contractor, and Muhammad Ibrahim of the Ministry of Commerce have been accused by NAB of allegedly embezzling development funds by making payments in excess by misusing their authority.
