LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Vehari and Mailsi presidents on Thursday called on former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari at Bilawal House and announced joining the party.

In a delegation led by Faisal Saleh Hayat, PML-N Mailsi President Muhammad Imran and former deputy commissioner and PML-N Vehari President Muhammad Akbar reposed full confidence in the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and formally joined the party.

Talking to the delegation, Zardari said that Pakistani politics was passing through a critical phase after former prime minister Nawaz Sharif caused a great damage to democracy. He added that Pakistan is not a private limited company but a nation and country.

“We will restore lost glory of Pakistan,” Zardari said, adding that “we will give ration cards to the poor and fertilizer urea to farmers in Rs500”.   He said that Nawaz has opposed the creation of South Punjab province, adding that the PPP will also give good news to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan, the PPP co-chairman said that he [Imran] lacked vision and has no internal or foreign policy.

Meanwhile, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reached Lahore on a private plane and appointed Yousaf Raza Gillani as party’s chief organiser with immediate effect.

A notification in this regard was issued from chairman’s secretariat by Bilawal’s Political Secretary Jameel Soomro on Thursday.
