The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has raised power tariff by Rs 1.51 per unit on account of fuel adjustment for the month of May 2012. The Central Power Purchase Agency (CPPA) had proposed an increase of Rs 1.52 per unit in power tariff. The Ministry of Water and Power considered the hike in power tariff “urgent” owing to the expensive equipment used in power generation. The tariff will be applicable from December 2012.
