Pharmacies observe shutter down strike on sixth consecutive day

LAHORE: Shutter down strike by medical stores throughout Punjab has entered 6th day compounding the woes of patients.

According to media reports, the pharmacies have observed the strike against drug act which has been dubbed as black law by the owners of the medical stores.  They have called for immediate end to raids on medical stores and laboratories.

As per the Drug Act 2017, those found involved in selling substandard medicines will have to undergo a five-year jail with one million rupees fine. Five-year jail and five crore rupees fine has been announced  for those who will sell  fake medicines, ten-year jail and hundred million rupees fine for those who will sell  medicines without a license.
