ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar said on Thursday that he would penalise and retrieve money from those who got their loans written off by using their influence.

While hearing the case pertaining to loans that were written off, the CJP asked for details of people who took loans from government banks and later on got them written off. In addition, he also asked for details of their local and international bank accounts.

The chief justice asked State Bank of Pakistan’s governor whether there was a way to bring back all the money, to which the governor responded by saying that no such clause was present in the Terms of Reference (TORs).
