UIT, ISACA sign MoU to offer IT audit courses

KARACHI: Usman Institute of Technology (UIT) on Wednesday signed a MoU with Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) to offer IT audit courses to CIOs of different banks and relevant audience.

The course leads to international certification of CISA and CISM following an appearance in the relevant examination. UIT has already started the first batch of CISA and CISM courses in collaboration with ISACA. The collaboration between the two organizations will go a long way in grooming resources of the country’s IT industry.

Established in 1997, the ISACA is a non-profit organization that was formed with a view to provide a centralized forum for CISA and CISM professionals across the country to share experiences, communicate ideas, and foster mutual assistance for career progression and professional growth. The Chapter’s core objective is to address information risks, audit, governance and security related queries of ISACA members, to provide a place where members can directly communicate with each other through various forums to remain updated about recent research and innovations in the industry across the globe.

Being the only ISACA recognized chapter in Pakistan till recently, the Karachi chapter was tasked with fulfilling training and development requirements of members, managing memberships, and increasing awareness about the needs of implementing IT security and conducting IS audits in Pakistani industry. In addition, the ISACA Karachi chapter liaisons with educational institutes and universities across Pakistan to ensure that our fresh graduates and future leaders know the importance of information risk management in the contemporary world.
