Tribal enmity claims three lives

An old dispute between two groups of Marfani community on Wednesday claimed three lives and injured 10 others including a woman and a girl in village Akbar Chandio located in the limits of Drigh police station, near Kambar.

Nine injured people were rushed to Accident and Emergency Centre of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) in Larkana for treatment and further management. The dead include Mujeeb and Shahban who died on the spot and Noor Muhammad was brought dead in the CMCH.

The injured include Sobho Khan, Gulzar Ali, Kafeel Ahmed, Ali Akbar, Farzana, Ghulam Ali, Karmaan and 5-year old Shahneela. Duty doctors described condition of five injured as serious.

Injured of both the groups were brought by police due to which the entire atmosphere at the CMCH emergency department remained tense and the CMO Chief Dr Saeed Ahmed Memon had to call more police personnel to avert eruption of any further dispute.

The injured were admitted in neurosurgery and general surgery wards and told reporters about non-availability of treatment facilities at the Kambar Civil Hospital. The wounded said they had to hire private vehicles to reach Larkana as there was no ambulance available.

The relatives of both the groups demanded stern action against the authorities for their failure to provide proper healthcare system in the district headquarter hospital, adding that the precious lives could have been saved had there been the required medical facilities.
